EGP Field Archive

From the Arab Field to Gemological Knowledge

During my practical journey in gemology, and through direct engagement with specimens, documents and field photographs from several Arab regions, I have observed a clear growth in scientific curiosity and gemological awareness. Interest is no longer limited to a stone’s beauty or commercial value; many now ask about mineral identity, inclusions, provenance, treatments, and the differences between natural, synthetic and imitation materials.

This record documents part of that journey through specimens and photographs from Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Syria and Algeria. It is a visual and educational record based on documentation of the source from which the specimens or images were received, not on a published laboratory examination of each piece. Images alone are therefore neither laboratory reports nor definitive proof of identity, provenance or treatment. This is where EGP begins: turning observation into knowledge and connecting a passion for gemstones with responsible scientific method.

Source and location documentation: according to the source record provided to EGP. Photographs/materials published with the owner's permission. The names are educational documentary descriptions, not certificates of laboratory examination. Photographs alone do not establish mineral identity, commercial value, origin or treatment.
